Anyone who donated towards the Parish Ministry Center during our recent Thanksgiving Ministry Center Fundraiser (between November 17 and December 4) is invited to join us on a Hard Hat Progress Tour of the grounds where much work has already been done. See firsthand where we stand and gain insight into next steps during the coming months.
Hard hats will be provided and must be worn at all times on site.

The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated on Monday, December 8th and is a Holy Day of Obligation. This feast celebrates God's choice of Mary to be the mother of Jesus. Come celebrate the beauty and profound mystery of God’s greatest act of creation in the person of the Mother of God.
The parish office will be closed on December 8th and reopen at 8am December 9th.

SRQ Christmas Lights Trolley Tour

Experience the sights and sounds of the Christmas season as we tour several Sarasota neighborhoods lit up in the Christmas spirit! We'll travel by the SRQ Trolley with parish family and friends enjoying the colorful Christmas lights as we go. What better way to enjoy a Friday evening!
Please arrive promptly at 5:30pm for boarding.

Children's Christmas Nativity Pageant

We are currently looking for volunteers to participate in this year's Christmas pageant, which will take place on December 24 at 3:30pm (just prior to the 4pm Christmas Eve Mass). All children are welcome to participate. The rehearsal will take place on Sunday, December 21 following 10am Mass and will include a breakfast for the kids with a surprise guest (who may or may not arrive in his sleigh)! This breakfast will take place under the portico. The pageant is a parish tradition and is always a fun time for the kids!

Christmas Music Prelude

Every Christmas Eve, prior to the 7:00pm Mass, we enjoy a Christmas music prelude with sounds of the season (and even some caroling), featuring our very own music director, Katherine Alexandra.
Katherine is a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory of Music (summa cum laude) with a master’s degree in concert piano performance. She is primarily a concert pianist, performing since the age of 5. She has played solo concerts in Russia, Spain, and in the U.S., has played with symphony orchestras, various theater orchestras, and has participated in theater productions. Katherine performs various styles of music including classical, Broadway, and pop, and if you attend Mass at St. Michael's you are already familiar with her beautiful singing voice.

January speaker JB Miller is a life-long Mennonite and student of Amish and Mennonite history. He grew up in Sarasota's Pinecraft community, a popular winter-time destination for Amish and conservative Mennonites. The community dates back to the 1920’s and serves as a winter home to many different groups of Plain People who identify as Amish or Mennonite.
Come join us as JB shares how these communities live and what Pinecraft was like long before it became a popular tourist destination.
